Betty StinsonPublished Wednesday, November 20, 2002 in the Nevada County PicayuneRev. Mrs. Betty Ann Stinson, 75, of Prescott, died Thursday, November 7, 2002, at the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana. Mrs. Stinson was born February 5, 1927, in Garnett, Kansas to Ray and Nellie Viola Twining. She was a Nazarene minister, retiring after 50 years and a teacher with the Prescott Public Schools for 36 years. She was a member of the Liberty Church of the Nazarene where she had served as their pastor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie L. Stinson in 1988. Family members cherishing her memory are: three sons and daughter-in-law, Rev. K. Laverne and Janet Stinson of Harrah, Okla., Dr. E. Ray Stinson of Grosse Pointe, Mich., and Jerry Lee Stinson of Prescott; one daughter, LaVetta Anne Davis of Hope; two brothers, Eugene Twining of Edmond, Okla. and Harold Twining of Houston, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ilene and Hollis Williams of Little Rock, and Grace and James Williams of Hensley; seven grandchildren, Tami and Scott Rowland of Bel Air, Maryland, Teri and Joe Kamphuis of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tonya and John Greenway of Norman, Okla., and Andy Davis of Hope; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Kamphuis and Christopher Rowland. Services were Sunday, November 10, 2002 at 3 p.m. at the Liberty Church of the Nazarene. Interment was at Liberty Cemetery in Prescott. The family has entrusted these services to the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott. Memorials may be made to the Liberty Church of the Nazarene in Prescott.
