Cleon WatkinsPublished Wednesday, September 18, 2002 in the Gurdon TimesARKADELPHIA Cleon Watkins, 87, of Arkadelphia died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab. She was born Oct. 11, 1914, in Amity, daughter of the late James "Jim" Lafayette and Julia Elizabeth Fox Garner. She was a homemaker and a member of Third Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Watkins and one daughter, Estelle Davis. Survivors include: two sons, Troy Lee Watkins and his wife, Ruby of Palestine, Texas, and Gilbert Wayne Watkins of Bismarck; two daughters, Mae Elizabeth Thomason and her husband, Herschel of Bismarck and Wanda Mauldin and her husband, Bill of Prescott; a sister, Hattie Garner McJunkins of Alexander; and 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral were 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Gary Turner, Rev. James Guthrie and Bro. Chris Morrison officiating. Burial was in Alpine Cemetery.
