Maxine BrownPublished Wednesday, August 21, 2002 in the Nevada County PicayuneMaxine Elva Brown, 83 of Bodcaw, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at the Hillcrest Care and Rehab Center in Prescott. Mrs. Brown was born March 18, 1919, in Nevada County to Bascum F. and Lena Daniels Bockman. She was a housewife and a long time member of Corinth Baptist Church near Bodcaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, V.C. "Red" Brown in 1992, her two brothers and two grandchildren. Cherishing her memory in their hearts are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Diane Brown of Ashdown and Joe and Betty Brown of Bodcaw; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Billy Russell of Bodcaw and Nancy and Ricky Burke of Prescott; one sister, Mary Jo Gregory of Bodcaw; one sister-in-law, Corene Brockman of Stamps; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were Thursday, August 15, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Corinth Baptist Church near Bodcaw. Officiating was her grandson, Bro. Jonathan Russell, her sons-in-law, Bro. Ricky Burke and Bro. Billy Russell. Interment was in Falcon Cemetery in Falcon. Services entrusted to the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott. Memorials may be made to the Corinth Baptist Church.
