Strange vehicle leads to arrestBY AUTUMN PENNINGTONPublished Wednesday, August 21, 2002 in the Gurdon Times On August 2, around 8 p.m., a suspicious vehicle was spotted by the Gurdon Police Department. After watching the 1979 model Oldsmobile make several traffic violations, the car was stopped just south of the Gurdon City Park on Highway 67. The car was occupied by three male subjects. The driver identified as Stacey Ford, 27 of Bearden. He was arrested for driving on a suspended license, operating defective equipment and possession of an instrument of crime (drug paraphernalia). Another passenger in the car was Charles Carroll, 34, of Camden. Carroll was arrested for drinking on the highway. Also arrested was Eddie Davis, 21, of Camden for drinking on the highway and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver crack cocaine. Davis was already on parole for cocaine in Camden. Gurdon City Marshal Don Childers reported all the subjects having a lengthy criminal background, and said he was glad to get them off the streets and in the Clark County Jail.
