After the many drug arrests made in January City Marshal Don Childers made the comment, "We are not through yet, not even close."

Childers has stood by this statement by continuing to arrest those responsible for putting drugs on our streets.

August 15, 2002, Gurdon Police Department, Clark County Sheriff's deputies and members of the Group 6 Narcotics Task Force raided a house on 5th Street in Gurdon.

A representative from the Group 6 Narcotics Task Force reported making nine different drug buys from the residence from four different people.

Pat Barnes was arrested and charged with having an instrument of crime. Felony charges are pending at this time including maintaining a drug premises.

Barnes is the fifth person to be arrested on drug charges at the residence.

The raid was made after a one-year and a half investigation on the house.

Childers said he planned to make several more arrest in the future.
