Texarkana man charged with forgeryBY MARY LEEPublished Wednesday, August 14, 2002 in the Nevada County Picayune Two forged checks were recovered in the Prescott area written by a Texarkana man. Jeffery Wolfe, 27, has been charged with a Class C felony, forgery, for writing two stolen checks. Two Prescott businesses Crew's Wrecker Service and 44 Truck stop reported receiving returned checks marked forgery. The checks, written on George Termite & Pest Control of Hot Springs were addressed to Jeffery Wolfe and signed by Collen Foster. Contact was made with Foster who said she had recently reported 13 checks stolen. A check number 1149 for $350 written to Crew's Wrecker and check number 1272 for $300, written to 44 Truck Stop, were both stolen checks. Foster said Wolfe had worked there but had not shown up for work in quite some time. She said he was not authorized to have checks signed by her and she did not write the checks to him.
