Employee appreciation breakfast setBY AUTUMN PENNINGTONPublished Wednesday, August 7, 2002 in the Gurdon Times An employee appreciation breakfast will be held 8 a.m. on August 13. The breakfast is a project of the 21st Century Community Involvement Committee. The purpose of the breakfast is to create an atmosphere of appreciation and camaraderie between school employees and community residents, encourage and promote volunteerism in schools, make schools more friendly and welcoming, establish partnerships to help students succeed in education and to instill the importance of collaboration and sharing resources. Gurdon Public Schools have approximately 120 employees. Twenty tables will be set up for these employees at the breakfast. The committee is encouraging businesses, industries, civic organizations, churches or individuals to adopt a table to decorate, purchase a $10 gift to be used as a center piece at the table and serve the teachers seated there.
