Linda Carman had her tonsils removed August 31 in Hot Springs. I haven't heard a report on her condition, but I expect things were a little quieter on that end of town for a day or two. I'm just joking. We appreciate Linda and Bill and Linda's sense of humor. I read this somewhere: Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.' I heard someone say that they were worried that their prickly pear cactus might die if it didn't rain soon.Jeanie and I attended the school reunion at Cale on September 4. It was good to see former students and teachers, some of whom we had not seen since we taught school there 25 years ago. Harland was a cousin of mine, a brother of Herman McKelvy of Bluff City and a brother of Aline Claus, the Bodcaw reporter. Sympathy is also extended to the Walker family after the death of Lyndell Walker on September 2. He was buried at Bluff City Cemetery. It has only been a little over two months since the death of his brother, Glen. Don't let your foot get too heavy when driving on the new smooth section of Highway 24. It could cost you.
