Deborah StephensPublished Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in the Gurdon TimesEdward Lee "Sleepy" Hubbard, 77, of Arkadelphia, died Friday, July 26, at Beverly Health Care Center in Arkadelphia. Mr. Hubbard was born May 19, 1925, in Okolona, the son of the late Elmer B. and Mary Willingham Hubbard. He was a retired construction worker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Pete' Hubbard. Survivors include a very dear friend, Dale Dodgen; two sisters, Shirley Hurst of Gurdon, and Doris Callison of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, Charlie Hubbard of Gurdon, Wallace and Jimmie Hubbard, both of Bismarck. Funeral services were held Monday, July 29, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Runyan officiating. Interment was in Hart's Chapel Cemetery.
