Deaton is arrestedBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in the Gurdon Times A 22-year-old Gurdon man has been charged with third degree domestic battery after allegedly attacking his mother. According to court records, Coby Deaton reportedly broke through two doors in the family home and broke all the windows out of his own car. A call was made to the Gurdon Police Department concerning a man being out of control. When they responded, they learned Deaton had been pinned to the floor by an uncle and another relative. The officers found Deaton being held in this manner when they entered the house. As Deaton was released, he reportedly punched one of the men who had been holding him, and was promptly arrested. According to reports, Deaton allegedly threw his mother to the floor and choked her after she told him he was too drunk to drive and wouldn't give him the keys to his car. At this point, according to the reports, Deaton broke the windows out of his vehicle, then broke the two doors before attacking his mother. He was arrested and taken to the Clark County Sheriff's Office for formal charging, where he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a hit and run incident.
