A Rosston man was arrested recently when his wife reported him drinking and driving.

Robert Robinson, 38, was arrested and charged with two unclassified misdemeanors and one unclassified felony. The charges were, careless and prohibited driving, driving on a suspended license and driving while intoxicated.

This is Robinson's fourth offense for drinking and driving.

According to court records, Nevada County Sheriff's Deputy Danny Martin responded to a call from Robinson's wife stating Robinson was driving towards Emmet on County Road 33.

She reportedly stated Robinson was driving while intoxicated. Deputy Martin spotted a car traveling towards Emmet fitting the description of the vehicle Robinson was driving.

Martin attempted to stop the vehicle. Martin noted the driver was driving to the far left of the road, and stated he had to veer to the far right to keep from colliding with the vehicle.

Martin said Robinson pulled into an Emmet residence and stepped out of the car.

Robinson reportedly said he was on his way to spend the night at a friend's house.

Martin asked Robinson if he had been drinking, Robinson replied he had consumed two beers earlier that night.

Martin informed Robinson he would preform a field sobriety test. Robinson told Martin he did not need a test, he knew he was drunk. Martin preformed two sobriety tests and then placed Robinson under arrest.

Robinson was then transported to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, where he was given a blood alcohol content test. The test revealed a content of .14 percent. Under law in Arkansas, the legal limit has recently been reduced from 0.1 percent to 0.08 percent.

An unclassified felony is punishable by imprisonment for no less than one year or no more than six, or no less one year community service and/or a fine of no less than $900 and no more than $5,000.
