Clara SimmonsPublished Wednesday, June 26, 2002 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Clara B. Simmons, 72, of Prescott, formerly of Blevins, died Monday, June 17, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas. She was born on April 19, 1930, in Lake Providence, La., to Tom and Katie Moore. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Word of Faith Church in Blevins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Simmons, one brother, and eight sisters, and a special friend, Weldon "Doc" Fulton. Survivors include: two sons, Danny Simmons of Stamps and Gary Simmons of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Phyllis Thomas of DeAnn; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Rev. Lee Little officiating.
