Arch Pearson

Arch E. Pearson, Jr., 83, died June 7, at Azalea Estates Assisted Living Center in Monroe, La.

Mr. Pearson was retired after 38 years of service with the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, and was a district claim agent in Little Rock, at the time of his retirement. Mr. Pearson was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. Mr. Pearson attained the rank of Master Sergeant before attending Officer's Candidate School, where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, his rank at the time of discharge.

Mr. Pearson is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Mildred Daniel Pearson; three sons, Buddy Pearson and his wife, Janet, of Monroe, La., Mike Pearson and his wife, Candy, of Houston, Texas, and Mark Pearson and his wife, Karyn, of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Virginia Easterling and Ruth Daniel of Prescott, and Violet Matthews of Herber Springs, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his brother, Robert J. Pearson.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Laneburg Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating.

Visitation was from 6-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, at Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott.

Pallbearers were Bill Younts, Reece Pearson, Michael Pearson, Mike Ellis, Dan Ellis, and Deral Ellis.

Memorials may be sent to the Laneburg Cemetery Fund, Laneburg, Ark. 71844, or the charity of your choice.
