Jesse Runyan

Jesse J. Runyan, 80, of Arkadelphia died Saturday, June 1, at the Advanced Care Center of St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs.

Mr. Runyan was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Arkadelphia, son of the late Lon and Ada Buck Runyan.

He was a retired electrician, a member of Unity Baptist Church and a World War II United States Army veteran. He was the widower of Helen Petty Runyan.

Survivors are: three sons, Jesse Charles Runyan and his wife, Pam of Gurdon, Randy Runyan of Benton and Eddie Runyan and his wife, Sandy of Arkadelphia; six grandchildren: Chad, Jennifer, Kelly Jo and Lindsay Runyan and Patrick and Jeremy Clark; one sister, Cornelia Wisdom of Sheridan; and two brothers, Willie Runyan and Grady Runyan of Arkadelphia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 4, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Clark and Rev. Phillip Runyan officiating.

Burial was in Unity Cemetery.

Grandchildren served as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
