Theory Gatlin

Theory Adell Gatlin, Sr., 89, of Gurdon died Wednesday, May 1.

Gatlin was of the Baptist faith, son of John D. and Elnora Bell Gatlin and grandson of Preston and Sallie Gatlin.

He was a laborer at Reynold's Metal Company.

Survivors include his wife, Jearline Horne Gatlin, three sons, Jerry Jackson and his wife Barbara, Donny Gatlin and his wife Patsy of Little Rock, Theory Gatlin, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Los Angeles, Calif., three daughters, Marilyn Gatlin of West Memphis, Elnora Gatlin of Gurdon and Barbara Harper of Gurdon, six brothers, Henry Gatlin of Wilmington, Calif., John Gatlin of San Pedro, Calif., Isiah Gatlin of Compton, Calif., Willis Gatlin of Los Angeles, Arthur Gatlin of Los Angeles, and Ruben Gatlin who proceeded him in death, four sister, Ruby Gatlin Causy of Los Angeles, Allie Bell Keller of Wilmington, and two sisters proceeding him in death, Evelyn Eastman and Rizzie Gatlin.

Gatlin had 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, at St. Clair Baptist Church in Burtsell, Ark. with Rev. K.D. Thompson officiating. Burial was at the St. Clair Baptist Church Cemetery.
