Annie MackeyPublished Wednesday, April 17, 2002 in the Nevada County PicayuneAnnie Pauline Mackey, 71, of Stamps, passed away April 9, in a Texarkana hospital. She was born, July 20, 1930, in Nathan to Albert and Sylvia Sells Hawley. She was a homemaker, a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Stamps, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Stamps. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Meritt. Survivors include: her husband, Albert Mackey of Stamps; two sons, Mike Thurston of Shelbyville, Indiana and Bob Thurston of Brownsville, Indiana; one daughter, Rachel Parrish of Monroe; one brother, Grover Hawley of Magnolia; two sisters, Ruth Oliver of Lewisville and Nellie Hillery of Prescott; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held, Friday, April 12, at 2 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Palmey and Rev. Charles Walthall officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Prescott. Visitation was Thursday, April 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
