Today was the last day to put your name on the ballot for the Primary election on May 21, 2002.

As of Wednesday, March 27, no one had signed the political pledge sheet to run against Clark County Sheriff, Troy D. Tucker.

Tucker announced his plans for reelection in last week's newspaper.

Tucker said he enjoyed serving as sheriff and appreciates the opportunity to continue doing so.

Floyd "Buddy" Manning, Clark County Judge, pledged to run again on March 19, 2002.

No one else had signed the pledge sheet to run against Manning, as of last Wednesday.

However, Ron Daniels was expected to sign the sheet before the deadline.

Daniels had announced his candidacy for Clark County Judge several months back, and has placed campaign signs throughout the county.

Kasey Summerville, Diane Wingfield and Wanda Knight are running against each other for Clark County Assessor.

Rhonda Williams was unopposed for Clark County Clerk.

Penny Ross and Karen Jones are both running for the Clark County Circuit Clerk position.

Judy Beth Hutcherson is unopposed for the Clark County Treasurer's position.

Clark County Coroner Candidate, Tom Tobin, signed the pledge sheet on March 19.

R.H. Batson and Wayne Bowen are running against one another for District 3 Justice of the Peace.

Larry Thomerson and Frances McGill are running against each other for District 10 Justice of the Peace.

John Howard and Jimmy Bolt are running for Justice of the Peace in District 7.

Elmer Sveda, Jerry Johnson and Orville E. Buck are all running for Justice of the Peace, District 6.

Luke Hollingsworth, District 2, Jerry Buck, District 8, Bill Moorman, District 5, and Albert Neal for District 4 are all running unopposed.
