The Women of the Church of God (WCG) met April 13. There were eight members in attendance. They were Doris Vance, Eulah Wilson, Shirley Smithpeters, Vivian Spruill, Janet Toland, Velvet Gonzales, Rhonda Spruill and Jeannie Burchfield.

The ladies made a decision to host a community service for the National Day of Prayer on May 6. More information about this event will be publicized as the plans are finalized.

Jeannie Burchfield was the hostess and lesson presenter for the meeting.

The lesson was entitled, 'A Brazilian Festival of St. John, and was written by Jean McCracken, who has been a long-term missionary in Brazil.

The festival is held in celebration of John the Baptist and to remember the example he set with his life. The ladies studied the following scriptures to discover what lessons could be learned from the life of John the Baptist: Luke 1:36-37 and Luke 1:39-45, 57-66, 67-80.

There will be a state convention of the WCG April 30-May 1 in Hot Springs.
