Ethel CarmanPublished Wednesday, March 20, 2002 in the Nevada County PicayuneEthel Mae Carman, 77, of Prescott, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, in Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. She was born July 5, 1924, in Ruston, La., to Bovelle and Maude McAlister Snyder. She was a homemaker and a retired nursing home cafeteria worker. She was a member of Park Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgie A. Carman. Her survivors include: two sons, Tommy Carman and Jane of Cabot; and Bill Carman and Linda of Bluff City; one daughter, Ann Shupienus and Charles of Alexandria; one brother, Tommy Snyder of Houston; three sisters, Estelle Hubble of Newberry Park, Calif.; Wanda Jones of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Elsie Spence of Maynard, Maine; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with Harley Sission officiating. Burial was in Sweet Home Cemetery in Hempstead County under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
