James Newberry

James Bernard Newberry, 91, of Gurdon, died Saturday, February 16, 2002.

Newberry was a carpenter, a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, and a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Hester Newberry of Gurdon; daughter Evelyn Glover of Gurdon; sister, Jamie Henderson of Hooks, Texas; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Orville Newberry.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 18, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Easley Cemetery under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.

Memorials may be made to the Easley Cemetery.
