The Scrapperettes had to fight from behind to pull off a 42-41 win against the Lady Lions on Thursday night.

Bismarck led 15-11 at the end of one and 23-17 at the half. Nashville cut the lead to 35-33 by the end of the third, and scored the final bucket with 2.5 seconds left on the clock in the fourth.

Tessa White led Nashville with 15.

Lacey Hardin also scored 15 for Bismarck.

The Lady Lions were six of 10 at the line, while Nashville netted five of nine.

DEQUEEN 61

FOUKE 53

The Leopards wasted no time in eliminating Fouke 61-53.

The Leopards led 14-9 at the end of one and 34-22 at the half. De Queen maintained its lead, 47-35, at the end of three.

De Queen netted 20-31 free throws, while Fouke hit 17-23 at the line.

Matt Hall and James Hammond scored 16 each for De Queen, with Eric Bennett adding 13.

Brandon Attaway led Fouke with 21.

FOUNTAIN LAKE 62

ASHDOWN 41

Mistakes proved to be more than Ashdown cold overcome as the Panthers fell 62-41 to Fountain Lake on opening night.

Ashdown led 15-13 at the end of one. The Cobras took control in the second quarter, 26-17, and never looked back. Fountain Lake led 47-30 at the end of three.

The Cobras were 13-20 from the line, while Ashdown hit six of 14.

Womack scored 20 for the Cobras, and was aided by 14 from Thong Trace and 13 from Jordan Bennett.

Tony Roberts led the Panthers with 18.

FOUKE 47

NASHVILLE 45

This was by far and away the ugliest game of the tournament.

It was marred by mental mistakes, senseless fouls, bad passes and bad hands.

Still, the Panthers managed to pull out a 47-45 win over Nashville.

The Scrappers led 11-6 at the end of one, but trailed 18-16 by halftime. The Panthers continued to lead at the end of three with the score 33-31.

Nashville was six of seven at the line, while Fouke hit 10-20.

Attaway led all scorers with 26 for Fouke, with Eric Thomas adding 10.

Ray Smith paced the Scrappers with 14. Brian Pope and Lewis Bean scored 10 each.

SENIOR GIRLS

MENA 42

FOUKE 25

This game went as expected with the Lady Cats hammering Fouke 42-25.

The Lady Panthers managed to play with Mena for three quarters, but were demolished in the final eight minutes.

The game was tied, 8-8, at the end of one, with Mena leading 19-16 at halftime. The Lady Cats led 28-23 after three, then put on a scoring clinic in the fourth.

Mena was 13-21 in free throws, while Fouke was a perfect nine for nine.

Rachelle Bonner led the Lady Cats with 17. Lindsay Brown scored 11.

Holly Smith had 10 for Fouke.

ASHDOWN 48

PRESCOTT 37

Prescott's Wolverettes never got on track in the game, and wound up being eliminated 48-37.

Ashdown led 13-8 at the end of one, and was up 24-16 at halftime. The Lady Panthers put the game out of reach in the third as they led 43-26.

Prescott was five of 10 at the line, with Ashdown hitting 10-18 free throws.

Tiffany Smith led Prescott with 16. Tammy Harris added 12.

Kalah Dennis paced Ashdown with 15, while Brandi Hemphill scored 11.
