Jacob Reyenga

Jacob Ralph (Jakie) Reyenga, 89, of Benton, Louisiana, formerly of Emmet, died February 5, 2002, at Garden Court Nursing Center in Bossier City, Louisiana after a lengthy illness.

He was born December 1, 1912, in Grand Prairie, Missouri, to Jake W. and Edna Bridgman Reyenga.

He was retired from the local 406 Operating Engineers and also a farmer until 1999, when he suffered from a stroke.

He was the oldest living Mason of the Evergreen Lodge #175 in Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ralph Windell Reyenga, and by one grandson, Ralph Goodnight.

He will be missed by his family and friends. He was very supportive of his family and friends and was loved by many.

His survivors include: his wife, Ruby Inez Reyenga of Benton, La.; one sone, Curtis Dean Reyenga of Benton, La.; one daughter, Melanie Sue Gayle of Shreveport, La.; four brothers, Josh, Earl, Howard and Herman Reyenga; four sisters, Earline Williamson, Pearl Richardson, Vera Dolan, and Katherine Reyenga; eight grandchildren, Joe Goodnight, Curtis Goodnight, Cathy Turner, Leslie Matthews, Matt Reyenga, Marty Reyenga, Winde Reyenga, and Josh Reyenga; seven great-grandchildren, Erica Turner, Morgan Matthews, Joe Henry Goodnight II, Regan Lynn Goodnight, and Valerie Renee Goodnight.

Graveside services were 4 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2002, at Snell Cemetery, in Emmet. Arrangements under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
