Almost everyone in town knows Dianna from D&D Auto Parts or NAPA. But did you know Dianna is also owner of the Donaldson Motocross Park?

In October Dianna Dyer and her husband Doyle, along with their children Terry and Lisa Richardson and Doug and Tina Disotell, bought the track.

Dyer said her family felt it would be a good investment as the track would be used by other families. Families can come out and race together or watch other family members participate. However, motorcycle racing is for all ages.

Riders are divided up on race day according to what size bike they ride. For riders on bigger bikes they are divided up by bike and by experience.

On race day all participants must sign a release form before racing begins. Just in case of an accident. They also pay $20 if they are considered to be an Amateur and $30 for Expert/Pro.

They can also purchase a membership to the track which allows them to have a key and practice racing anytime they like. Memberships cost $100 a year for an individual and $125 a year for a family membership. If you are not interested in racing or a membership you can pay $6 just to watch.

The next race will be held February 17th with weather and track conditions pending. This is a regular race for anyone to enter.

However, this year the Donaldson Motocross Park is participating in a Series.

Series races include a five-state range which includes, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Mississippi. Races are held in these different states at tracks and are part of a Series.

Riders race in these series races hoping to have the most points in their category at the end of the year. If the rider has the most points then they will be the winner for the year.

Donaldson will sponsor a Series race on June 2.

Dyer admits her family has plans for improvements on the track and to the park itself. Dyer said, "The track needs to be elevated and fixed so water doesn't stand on it and the track will be easier to maintain. We are also planning to put in new restrooms and a new concession stand."

The track is located on Highway 67, 11 miles north of Arkadelphia. You can find out more information about the track at www.donaldson-mx-park.com or E-mail them at donaldsonmx@yahoo.com.

You can also go by and talk to Dyer at her business.
