Ann Cole

Ann McGill Cole, 99 of Chidester, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002.

Cole was born April 21, 1902., in Tates Bluff to M.W. and Eliza Ann Josephine Tate McGill.

She was a former teacher of grades and Home Economics at Prescott, Chidester, Bluff City and Laneburg. She was a graduate of the Peabody High School and the University of Arkansas. She was the second homecoming queen of the University of Arkansas, a member of Phi Mu Sorority and University of Arkansas life member. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, B&PW, Delta Kappa Gama. She was also a member of the DAR and WSCS. She was a resident of Prescott for 36 years, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Prescott and later joined the Tates Bluff Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Cole, her daughter, and 15 brothers and sisters.

Cherishing her memory are: her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim and Sue Cole of Houston, Texas; and William Cole of Chidester; four grandson: David and Peggy Cole, Bobby Cole, Richard and Karen Cole and Tommy and Joyce Cole; three great-grandchildren, James Michael, Marshall Tate and McKinzie Annie; and 20 nieces and nephews.

Services were Saturday, January 26, 2002, at 1p.m. at the Tates Bluff Presbyterian Church with Robyn Nygaard officiating.

Interment was at Missouri Cemetery at Chidester.

Visitation was Friday, January 25, 2002, from 5-7 p.m. at her home, 2094 Ouachita 23, Chidester.
