Clemie ClarkPublished Wednesday, January 23, 2002 in the Gurdon TimesClemie Lone Wingfield Smart Clark, 99, of Arkadelphia, died Thursday, January 17, 2002, at the Twin Rivers Health and Rehab. Clark was born March 23, 1902, in Clark County to the late Jimmie Lee and Rosa Lena Bray Wingfield. She was a housewife and a charter member of the Marietta Pentecostal Church. Clark was preceded in death by her husbands, James T. Smart and Clarence Clark; one son, James Smart; one granddaughter, Deborah Smart and one great-granddaughter, Amanda Smart. Survivors include three sons, Bill Smart of Arkadelphia, Joe Smart of Gurdon, and Jerry Smart of Nevada; three daughters, Mabie Stapleton and Rosa Shepherd, both of Glendale, Ore., and Judy Sligh of Arkadelphia; two brothers, Horace Wingfield of Kilgore, Texas and Melvin Wingfield of Burbank, Calif., 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Center Grove Cemetery with Rev. Dewitt Little officiating. Interment under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
