Mary Keys

Mary Estella Brown Ross-Keys, 88, of Gurdon, died Friday, December 14, 2001, at the Arkansas Health Center, where she had resided for the past two years.

Keys was born in Clark County on July 25, 1913, the first daughter of Joe Ted and Nettie Francis Scott Brown.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gurdon, and recently a member of the Lake Hamilton Baptist Church. Also, she was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Estelle married Jewel Jack' Ross who preceded her in death. To this union two children were born, daughter, Betty Ann Beaver and son, Jack Edward Ross, both of Hot Springs.

Estelle was preceded in death by her second husband, Clark Keys, grandsons, Todd Ross, Greg Cornal and Matthew Scott Beaver; and sisters, Opal Nolan and Thelma Lee Hutson.

She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Betty and George Beaver; son and daughter in-law, Jack and Gerry Ross; her grandchildren David and Daniel Beaver of Casper, Wyo., Janda and Donald Yanzer of Moncks Corner, SC., Penny and Jerry Thompson of Phillip, South Dakota, Wendy and Gary Plyler of Gurdon, Stephanie and Jerry Herndon of Hot Springs.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Ceja and Mike Antonovich of Casper, Alexi, Elizabeth, and Matthew Yanzer of Moncks Corner, S.C., Blake, Levi, and Luke Thompson and Nicole Tippman of South Dakota, Joe, Jake and Jill Plyler of Gurdon, and Stephanie and Morgan Herndon of Hot Springs.

Other survivors include, sister and brother in-law, Doris and Jharas Wright of Hot Springs, three brothers and sisters in-law, Harvey and Marguerite Brown of Hot Springs, Kenneth and Jean Brown of Arlington, Texas, and Howard and Floy Jean Brown of Texarkana, Texas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Horne Funeral Home Chapel in Gurdon, with interment following in Easley Cemetery.

Officiating were Phillip Brown, nephew of Mrs. Keys. Memorials may be made to Lake Hamilton Baptist Church, 5963 Central, Hot Springs, Ark. 71913 or to Easley Cemetery.
