Bernard DeLamarPublished Wednesday, November 21, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneBernard Alexander DeLamar (B.A.), died Thursday, November 15, 2001, in Bryant. DeLamar was born September 12, 1918, in Dalark, Dallas County. Born to Horace Bernard and Lucy Blanche Wintherspoon DeLamar. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Guthrie DeLamar. He is survived by one son: James H. DeLamar and wife Terri of Bryant; two daughters: Sarah Catherine DeLamar of Dallas, Texas and Mary DeLamar Byrd and husband Jim Bob of Littleton, Colorado. DeLamar was a graduate of Prescott High School and Baylor University. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Prescott. DeLamar was a World War II veteran and along with his parents and son was a Chevrolet dealer in Prescott for more than 50 years. He served his community by participating on the Boards of the Bank of Prescott, the Prescott Savings and Loan and the Prescott School Board for many years. Funeral services were Monday, November 19, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Prescott First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the DeAnn Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. These services were entrusted to the Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
