Local models will be strutting their stuff on the runway at the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Fall Fashion Show Saturday, Nov. 10.

The fashion show's theme is "Fall Fashion Review," and will feature clothing and accessories available in Prescott.

The event will begin with a luncheon consisting of corn chowder soup, a chicken breast on a bed of wild rice, green beans, a salad, roll and dessert an apple pie ala mode from Flywheel Pies.

Different businesses in Prescott and Nevada County will be represented in the show, which will be presented in three segments.

One segment will have Beth Ward giving holiday makeup ideas, with the second having Brenda Williams giving a test on how a person can find their own personal style. The third segment will be a display of Christmas gift ideas available in town.

Businesses are being asked to loan items for the third portion of the show, with the items to be returned after the event ends.

Jon Chadwell, executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Office, will be the master of ceremonies.

According to Mary Godwin, executive director of the Chamber, the reasoning behind the fashion show is to let residents know what's available in Prescott, not only fashion wise, but for holiday gift-giving.

"We encourage people to shop locally," she said. "This keeps the money in Prescott and helps local businesses."

The fashion show will also include information on clothing, jewelry, hairstyles, embroidery and nail care.

The show will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Potlatch Building at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased either at the Chamber or at the door.

November 10 is the first day of modern gun deer season. Godwin said this date was selected for the fashion show to give women in the area something to do while their husbands and/or significant others are in the deer woods hunting.
