Claudia McKinnon, 79, of Arkadelphia, died Thursday, November 1, 2001.

McKinnon was born in Gum Springs to Claude and Carrie Hudman Hughes.

She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Carlton McKinnon of Arkadelphia; one son, Edward McKinnon of Gurdon; two daughters, Jean Bateman and husband, Martin, of Clarksville, and Joan Selvidge and husband, Larry, of Hot Springs Village; two brothers, Ray Hughes of Sheridan, and Garett Hughes of Curtis; one sister, Hazel Norton of Arkadelphia; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, John, and Jimmy Bateman, Katie and Kelli McKinnon; and two great-grandchildren, Whitney and Jordan Bateman.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 3, at the Horne Funeral Chapel in Gurdon with Rev. Marvin Pate and Rev. Freeling Clower officiating.

Interment was in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Horne Funeral Home. Grandchildren and nephew, Jimmy McKinnon were pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are sons in-law and great-grandchildren.
