Horris WaidPublished Wednesday, October 17, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneHorris Dale Waid, 58, of Prescott, died Sunday, October 14, 2001. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Prescott and a former member of Fairview Baptist Church in Little Rock. Waid was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Westwood Masonic lodge #353, the Scottish Rite and the Scimitar Shrine Temple, and was a charter member of the Cherokee Hunting Club. He was a retired truck driver with East Texas Motor Freight. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Rita Porter Waid; sons: Roger Waid, Billy Waid and his wife, Christy, and Roy Sanchez and his wife, Tamara; daughters; Tracey Waid Greenwood and her husband Landon, and Tammy Waid; grandchildren Nick Waid, Chris Waid, Hannah Waid, Peyton Greenwood, Michael Sanchez, Mark Sanchez, and Rebecca Sanchez; brothers Bobby Almond and his wife Joyce; special friend Carol Usery, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at the Fairview Baptist Church in Little Rock with Dr. Don Lutrick, and Rev. Chad Brandon officiating. Interment was in the Forest Hill Memorial Park with Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Southwest assisting. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
