Friday the 26th will be School Day and kick-off the Civil War Weekend. School Day means the area schools are invited to bring classes to the park to meet reenactors and learn more about the Civil War with a hands on experience. If any schools are interested they must reserve a time slot. Saturday at 10 a.m. the Confederate and Union camps will open. The public is welcome to visit with soldiers and civilians. Troops will be demonstrating firearms, company drills and camp cooking. At 2 p.m. the wooded area behind the visitor's center will come alive with soldiers. They will engage in battle with real gun noises and actual tactical maneuvers. From 6-9 p.m. reenactors will lead guests through a candlelight trail with a haunted history. Walks will leave every half hour. Walks will last around 30 to 45 minutes each. Sunday will begin with Church services at 10 a.m. The visitor's center will be the location for the service. The park requests you bring your lawn chairs for church service. At 10:30 a.m. the camps will open to the public for viewing.
