Chamber planning paradeBy Autumn PenningtonPublished Wednesday, October 17, 2001 in the Gurdon Times The Gurdon Chamber of Commerce is working diligently on making this year's Christmas Parade a good one. The Chamber is raising money for the parade by selling long-sleeve t-shirts. The t-shirts are colorful and the design was chosen from one of Gurdon's own young artists. Kelsey Wray, a student at Gurdon Primary School, was the lucky student whose drawing was selected to appear on this year's shirts. Shirts will be available at the Gurdon Forest Festival while supplies last. However, you can order your shirt and it will be in before Christmas. Youth sizes may also be ordered at the Forest Festival. The Chamber is also sponsoring this year's Halloween costume contest at the Forest Festival. Age groups for the contest are 0-2 years, 3-5 years and 6-8 years. Each participant will receive a prize. First through third place will also be awarded. First prize winners will receive $15. Second place prize winners will receive $10 and third place winners will receive $5. Come join the Gurdon Chamber of Commerce to help have a wonderful Gurdon Christmas and support the town. The Forest Festival is October 27 and the Christmas Parade is December 7. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
