Linnie DeatonPublished Wednesday, October 10, 2001 in the Gurdon TimesLinnie M. Deaton, 91, of Curtis died peacefully with her family around her on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, in Yucaipa, Calif. Deaton was born in Richwoods Sept. 30, 1909, the daughter of Thomas Edgar and Lola Burrow Manning. She was the widow of Victor Deaton and was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas "Buddy" Manning and John Rowland Manning; two sisters, Anna Belle Golden and Floy Davis; and one daughter, Doris M. Jester. Survivors include: two sons, B.W. Deaton of Arkadelphia and James Delton Deaton of Yucaipa, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held in California with Pastor Randall Ireland presiding. She was returned to Arkansas and laid to rest beside her husband, Victor Deaton.
