Irene CorneliusShackelford Funeral HomePublished Wednesday, September 26, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Irene Bleveins Cornelius, 84, of Prescott, died Monday, September 17, 2001, at the Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Cornelius was born September 3, 1917, in Prescott to Franklin Stuart and Maude Renfro Blevins. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Ladies Auxilary of the VFW and a member of the Missionary Grove Baptist Church. Cherishing her memory are: Her loving husband, Lewis Cornelius of Prescott; two sons: Jim Cornelius and Tom Cornelius of Prescott; three daughters: Judy Matthews of Jacksonville, Jo Ridling and Donna Carter, both of Prescott; one brother: Dexter Blevins of Norman, Oklahoma; one sister: Annie Maude Steed of White House, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson. Services were Thursday, September 20, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Missionary Grove Baptist Church with Larry Jones, Dexter Blevins and Neal Ridling officiating. Internment was at Nubbin Hill Cemetery in Prescott by Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott. Memorials may be made to the Missionary Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
