Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

Mom's In Touch prayer group meets every Tuesday at 9 a.m. at First Baptist Church.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse on Thursday, April 22; Thursday, May 27, and Thursday, June 24.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind checks. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213.

Pleasant Ridge Church annual Homecoming day will be April 25.

There will be a short cemetery business meeting at 10:30. Jerry Westmoreland will be the speaker for the 11:00 o'clock worship service.

Potluck lunch will be served at noon. Singing and visitation will follow in the afternoon.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the day.

All former students of Bodcaw School are invited to attend a reunion at Nevada County School on June 5 starting at 5 p.m.

Complete dinners will be served for $12.50 each. Register to win a beautiful hand painted picture of the old school house.

First Presbyterian Church of Hope announces its heritage lectures for 1999. The guest speaker will be Dr. Marion Soards, professor of New Testament at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. The topic will be 'Jesus in History and Tradition.'

Lectures are on Friday, April 23, at 7 p.m., on Saturday, April 24, at 11 a.m. and at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 25, during morning worship. The public is invited to attend. Lectures will be in First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall, 701 S. Main in Hope.

The annual reunion of the former students of Bluff City School will be held Saturday, May 1, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Prescott Housing Authority community room located at the end of Hale Avenue behind the Nevada County Hospital. Take a finger food lunch.

Saturday, April 24, has been designated clean-up day for Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Participants should go early and take their own work tools. Alternate date in case of rain will be Saturday, May 1.

Cemetery clean-up day at Ebenezer Cemetery will be Saturday, April 24. Take your own tools, mowers and trimmers.

The annual Delight Cemetery dinner will be held Saturday, April 24, at the Delight School cafeteria. Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will go to upkeep of the Delight Cemetery.

Food served will be ham, chicken and dressing, homemade rolls, green beans, mashed potatoes, slaw, a dessert and beverage.

National Day of Pray will be Thursday, May 6, after the Rotary Fish Fry at First Baptist Church in the gym.

Blevins Schools will hold kindergarten registration during the week of April 19-23 in the elementary office. Parents need to take their child's birth certificate, immunization record, social security number and a health evaluation. Students will not be fully registered without all these forms.

Prescott Housing Authority will host a Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce coffee on Monday, April 26, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The coffee will be held at Prescott Housing Authority at 401 Hale Ave. Everyone is invited.

Southwest Arkansas Development Council announces that the application period for home energy winter assistance ended March 31. Applications for C.I.P. are still being accepted.

Kamori Scott and Jared Woodley announce the birth of their son, KeSante Shamar Daquann Scott. He was born Tuesday, April 13, 1999. He weighed 7 pounds and 5 ounces and was 20+ inches long.

Grandparents are Eddie and Latisa Gillard of Prescott, Johnny Woodley of Stamps, Elouise and Raymond House of Gurdon and Tony Bozman of Los Angeles, Calif.

The PHS junior class will host a talent show Tuesday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Prescott High School auditorium.

Talent will consist of elementary, middle and high school students. Admission will be $2 a person except children three years old and under will be able to enter free with parent. All proceeds will benefit the junior-senior prom. Awards will be presented that night.

William and Melissa Crawford announce the birth of their son, Ethan Matthew Crawford, born Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

He weighed 6 pounds, 3+ ounces and was 19+ inches long

The annual business meeting of the Ebenezer Cemetery will be May 2 at 2 p.m. at Bluff City Baptist Church.

There will be a singing at Morris Baptist Church Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.
