Roger Harvel Sr.Johnson Funeral HomePublished Wednesday, September 5, 2001 in the Gurdon Times Roger E. Harvell, Sr., 64, of Gurdon, died Tuesday, August 21, 2001. Harvell was born on November 30, 1936, to the late Willie and Luversy Nelson Harvell in Okolona. He was a retired deputy sheriff for the county and did lawn care after retiring. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Pinkie Lee Harvell of Gurdon; three sons, Roger Harvell, Jr. of Gurdon, Dwayne and Ruth Harvell of Arkadelphia, and Timothy R. Harvell of Gurdon; one sister, Nannie Bell Leeper of Flint, Mich.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 25, at First Baptist Church of Okolona with Rev. E. Brown officiating. Burial was in the Okolona Cemetery.
