The Clark County Fair will be here before we know it.

This year's fair is set for September 10-16, so make plans now to attend it.

It promises to be a good one with lots of new rides on the midway and a great rodeo set for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights of the fair.

This year's carnival will begin with Armband Day starting at 6 p.m.

Armbands will be sold at the area schools, or they can be purchased at the carnival at a higher price. Designated Armband nights are Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night. Patrons must have a separate armband for each night.

This year the usual Kiddie Day, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 15, has been cancelled.

There will also be commercial booths, livestock, poultry, rabbits, ornamental plants, flowers, baked items, farm crops and a pretty baby contest at this year's fair.

If you intend on showing livestock, poultry or rabbits you must have your animal registered by 7 p.m. on September 11.

If you have a pretty baby photo you would like to enter in the contest you must do so by 7 p.m. on the 11th also.

This year a horse show will be held at 8 p.m. on Sept. 11 if you would like to attend.

Come and join in all the fun on Wednesday, Sept. 12, for the Clark County Fair Parade. Parade participants this year will include local politicians, cheerleaders and band members from the local schools, the Fair Queen, Princess and Tiny Miss winners and many more.

The fair parade will begin at 5 p.m. on Main Street in Arkadelphia.

Wednesday is the scheduled day for judging swine, sheep and goats. All judging will start at 6:30 p.m. in the livestock barn.

Beef and dairy cattle judging will take place on Thursday, August 13 at 6 p.m.

The Clark County 4-H will hold a Poultry Chain Sale on Saturday, August 15 at 10 a.m. You may purchase available poultry from the 4-H to take home.

The George Sharp Junior Livestock Sale will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Each year the George Sharp Livestock Sale is held to help encourage the young exhibitors to keep up the good work and allow them to keep exhibiting.

Don't forget to enter your little one in the Pee Wee Livestock Show that will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. All exhibitors must be nine-years-old or younger and must be a resident of Clark County. Registration for the Pee Wee Show is due by noon on Friday.

If you would like to know more about this year's fair, you may pick up a fair catalogue at many local businesses and the Clark County Extension Office.
