Persie Lee Joe, 67, of Stephens died Thursday, April 15, 1999.

Mr. Joe was born December 25, 1931, in Rosston to Ida Bell Joe. He was a common laborer, in the U.S. Army and a member of the Piney Grove AME Church of Rosston.

Survivors include three sons, Curtis Christopher of Rosston, and William Joe and Nickies Joe both of Odessa, Texas; two daughters, Patricia Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Gloria Dean Joe of Rosston; one brother, Robert Lee Flower of McGehee; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; a dear cousin and friend, Gearline Walker of Stephens, Aunt Clara Joe of Rosston; a few uncles and aunts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Monday, April 19, at New Salem AME Church in Rosston with Leslie Banks officiating. Burial was in New Salem Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
