Former commissioner honored at meetingBy Autumn PenningtonPublished Wednesday, August 29, 2001 in the Gurdon Times Bill Dulin was honored at the Monday, August 19, meeting of the Gurdon Water and Sewer Commission. Dulin recently retired from his position on the commission after serving 22 years as a chairman. Dulin was presented a plaque by Gurdon Mayor Clayton Franklin and a meal was served for the occasion. The commission had asked Dulin to please attend the meeting to help answer some questions the commission had been presented with that stemmed from the past when Dulin was still there. However, Dulin was quick to help his fellow commissioners out although it was a trick. Franklin gave a speech on Dulin's behalf and then presented him with a plaque. Dulin made a speech commending Harold Hurst and Franklin on the progress the Water and Sewer Commission has seen since Hurst started working with the department. Dulin said he had seen much progress in his 22 years of service and new there would be more to come. The meeting was soon officially called to order and Hurst told the commission he had not gotten any specs on the generator discussed earlier in the year. Hurst said he hoped to have something soon. Hurst also gave an update on the new drive-thru window being built for the use of the water department. Hurst said he believed matching brick had been located. Construction on the window should continue within the next few weeks. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
