Driving on the wrong side of the road got a Magnolia man arrested on July 12.

According to court records, Nevada County Sheriff's Deputy Larry Miller was patrolling on Highway 19, near the Prescott water tower when he saw a vehicle cross the center line twice.

He ran a check on the license plates, learning the plate on the blue Cadillac actually was supposed to be on a Mustang.

Miller stopped the vehicle and questioned the driver, Mark Gibson, 27, of Magnolia, who said it was his aunt's car and he was on his way to Little Rock.

Gibson gave Miller permission to search the car, saying nothing was in it. However, Miller found a .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun between the seat and console.

Miller ran a background check on Gibson, and found he had a felony arrest in 1993.

Along with being charged with possession of firearms by certain persons, a class D felony, carrying a sentence up to six years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000, Gibson was cited for having a fictitious license plate, driving left of center and having no liability insurance.
