One man was shot, with two others wounded when struck by handguns during a robbery Sunday, July 29.

The Prescott Police Department received a call concerning a shooting at 421 Bryant around 12:30 a.m. on July 29.

When officers arrived, they found one man had been shot, with two suffering head wounds.

According to Prescott Police Chief Sam Reeder, a gambling game had allegedly been going on when two men from Little Rock broke in and robbed those present.

In all, three people were arrested in the incident. They were: Al Walker, Jr., 33 of Little Rock, Norbert Kendall Suggs, 34, of Little Rock, and Eric Terrell Flenory, 29, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott.

The trio has been charged with one count each of residential burglary, 13 counts each of aggravated robbery, one count each of battery in the first degree, two counts each of battery in the second degree, and one count apiece for certain persons in possession of firearms.

Floyd \Whatley, 72, was shot in upper left side with a shotgun during the robbery, and taken to Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Willie Haynes, Sr., 51, of Hope, and Howard Cole, 41, of Prescott, were both struck in the head with handguns.

Flenory, Reeder said, acted as the driver for the trio, and never got out of the vehicle.

When the three left the scene, witnesses got the license plate number and reported it to authorities.

The three were caught in Arkadelphia after a chase. They had thrown the weapons out of the car, but still had a number of wallets belonging to the people at the house, along with about $6,700 in cash.

Reeder said the exact amount of cash taken will likely remain unknown as they drove with the money loose in the car and some blew out the windows.

Suggs is being held on a $100,000 bond, with Flenory's bond set at $50,000. Walker was in violation of his parole, and, therefore, no bond has been set for him in the case.

Aggravated robbery is a class Y felony carrying a sentence of 10-40 years or life in prison for each count.
