The Clark County Fair Pageant and Talent Committee are making final plans for the 2001 Clark County Fair Pageant.

It will be held at the Jones Performing Arts Center on the Ouachita Baptist University campus in Arkadelphia on August 25.

The goal of the Clark County Fair Pageant is to discover, develop, and encourage the youth of Clark County. Young ladies 13-15 years of age may compete in the Junior Miss division.

They will model street wear and evening gown. They will also be interviewed by the judges.

Fair Queen contestants must be 16-21 years of age. This group will compete in street wear, swimsuit, evening gown, and interview.

Little Miss contestants 3-5 years of age will compete in pageant dress and on stage questions.

Talent contestants must be 10-20 years of age and may choose to compete in vocal solo, dance solo, vocal group, dance group, instrumental solo, or variety (example: dance and sing or singing while accompanying oneself with an instrument).

The goal is to take six talent acts to the State Fair Talent competition.

Businesses, clubs, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to sponsor a contestant.

We want to give the youth of Clark County and opportunity to perform and to have a positive experience.

Entry fees are $25 for each contestant or group and the deadline is August 16.

Applications may be picked up at the Clark County Extension office at 501 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, or by calling (870)246-5095.

The Clark County Fair Pageant is one of the few Fair Pageants in the State of Arkansas to award scholarships to the Fair Queen, first and second runners up.

The support of local businesses and the hard work of the Clark County Fair Queens and their courts have represented the County at Southwest District Fair, Arkansas State Fair, and other local pageants.
