James "Jimmy" Collins

James Jimmy' A. Collins, 66, of Waldo, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at his home after battling cancer.

Collins was born December 4, 1934, in El Dorado.

He served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950's. Retiring from Boehringer Inelhein Pharmaceutical Company, Collins was also a deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Magnolia.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Collins; two sons, Loyd Collins of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Keith Collins and wife of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Ramone; two sisters, Virgie Herrod and husband, George of Warren, and Linda Hughes Lambert and husband of Warren; one brother, Ronald Dean Collins and wife, June of Ratcliff; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at the First Presbyterian Church in Magnolia with burial in Magnolia Memorial Cemetery between Magnolia and El Dorado.
