Nathan Chester Turner, 82, of Bierne, died Tuesday, July 17, in Fairfax Manor.

Turner was a machinist for the Cabe Lumber Company of Gurdon for more than 40 years, and a member of the Beirne Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy; one son, Bob Turner of Mena; three daughters, Peggy Prater of Fairfax, Okla., Joyce Taylor of LaCruces, New Mexico, and Janice French of Edmond, Okla.; two sisters, Mary Emma Reid and Betty Sue Lindsey, both of Pine Bluff; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are entrusted to Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon. Services were held at Brown Cemetery near Gurdon.

Those serving as honorary pallbearers for Turner are as follows: John Taylor, Mark Taylor, Brandon French, Robert Turner, Charles Turner, David Prater, Chris Brown, Tyler McInturf and David McInturf.
