James Elridge Dalton

James Elridge Dalton, 75, of Arkadelphia, died Tuesday, July 10, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

Dalton was born February 27, 1926, in Stephens, the son of the late Bentley James and Hazel Merritt Dalton.

He was a life insurance executive, a World War II Navy veteran and a Baptist. He was instrumental in the founding of Curtis Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Dalton of Curtis, Walter Dalton of Coppell, Texas; one step-son, Bentley James Dalton, Jr. of Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Brenda Gail Harrington of Woodsboro, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dalton was proceeded in death by his wife, Jeannie Hurst Dalton.

Funeral services were private. Memorials may be made to the Curtis Volunteer Fire Department. Visitations were not held.
