Caney

Easter Sunday brought a day of celebration and fun for Ohel Daniel and her families. All three daughters, their children and grandchildren gathered at the Daniel home place in Caney.

Some were Joe and Lavenia Hinson and families, Randall Garrett, Lina Haynie and Sylvia, Dustin and Brittney Hinson, all from Little Rock, and Patricia Garrett and friend from Madison, Wisc.

Others were Bobby and Joyce Martin and families, Bruce and Benjamin and friend, Sarah Gene, and Connie Martin, Zack, Megan, and Cass, all of Prescott, Frank and Gail Tabler, Martin Matthew and Mallory of Edmond, Okla., and Jonathan Martin and friend, Marisa, from Arkadelphia.

Also enjoying the celebration were Ernest and Myra Peachey, Daniel Peachey, Steve and Geri Hilton, Shelly Ashley and Matthew Turner from Prescott, and Brandon and Jennifer Peachey from Jacksonville.

After a picnic style lunch, the families enjoyed a visit from Mable Rhodes and Brenda, Betty McBride, Glenda Westmoreland, and Zane, Kathy Barham and Niki. The children enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, followed by special music provided by family members and guests.

We were glad to have these neighbors home once again. Thank to Myra for this item.

Lucy Glass, Marsha Nowlin and Tracy Bennett had supper with J.W. and Maxine Glass Friday night.

J.W. and Maxine Glass visited son, Jackie Glass and his family in Magnolia Friday. While they were in Magnolia, they did a little shopping.

Dennis Hicks and Kevin Karmel of the Dallas area visited the folks in Caney for the weekend. They were in church Sunday with their grandmother, Margie Reed.

Bobby and Wanda Lunsford were back in church Sunday after being sick.

Bro. Tal, Krista and children visited Krista's parents, Larry and Betty Gilleylen, in Prescott Sunday afternoon.

Several family members had lunch with J.W. and Maxine Glass Sunday. They were Liz and Roger Munn, Shauntelle Bennett and Payton, Deb, Steve and Cody Jackson, Dee Jarvis and Ricky Hamric, Marsha Nowlin, tracy Bennett, Karen, Sarah and Jason Jobe, Pat, Kenny, Tim and Leah McCullough, and Pam, Clancy, Kevin and Hannah Cleveland.

Junior and Ann Loe and Sidney Steed met with other Loe family members at Ellen Sue Dougan's in Cale Sunday for lunch. This luncheon was in celebration of April birthdays of Loe family members.

Sam and Jane Bradshaw of Camden spent Friday night with her parents, Junior and Ann Loe.

My sister, Pauline Blevins of Nubin Hill, and I attended the Extension homemakers spring council in Pike County Wednesday.

Thought: Old age is like underwear. It creeps up on you some times.
