Hershey track winners announcedPublished Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Prescott Parks and Recreation Department hosted a Hershey's Track and Field Youth Meet at the Prescott High School football and track stadium on Friday, May 25. Twenty-two boys and girls participated in the free event. Participants, ages 9-14, were divided into three age groups. First and second place winners in each event qualified for the Arkansas State Meet to be held in Russellville on June 16. Results from the Arkansas State Meet will be sent to a region chairman and at least five winners from the Arkansas State Meet will win an all expense paid trip to the National Final to be held in Hershey, Penn., in August. While there, participants will spend four days at the Hershey Theme Park, tour the Hershey Chocolate factory, attend a banquet in their honor, meet Olympic athletes, receive gifts from the corporate sponsors and compete in the National Finals. Winners for the various events are as follows: Girls, ages 9-10: 50 meter dash: Shelbi Cottingham, 9.39; Patricia Inlow, 9.79 and Jaela Hicks, 10.5. 100 meter dash: Tess Oliver, 17.6; Shelbi Cottingham, 18.4 and Jaela Hicks, 20.5. 200 meter dash: Tessa Oliver, 40.4. Softball throw: Shelbi Cottingham, 64'="; Patricia Inlow, 52'.5" and Jaela Hicks, 48' 9 =". Standing long jump: Tessa Oliver, 5'4" and Patricia Inlow, 4'7 =". Boys, ages 9-10: 50 meter dash: Cade Richards, 8.1 and Mitchell Zitano, 9.9. 100 meter dash: Cade Richards, 15.3; Marcus Banks, 16.8, London Cole, 18.1 and Mitchell Zitano, 18.5. 200 meter dash: Marcus Banks, 39.1 and London Cole, 39.4. Softball throw: Marcus Banks, 94' 6 ="; London Cole, 93' 8 =' and Mitchell Zitano, 64'4". Standing long jump: Cade Richards, 6'1". Girls, ages 11-12: 100 meter dash: Adrianna Woodberry, 15.5; Talena Woodberry, 17.0; Samantha Hopson, 17.7; Haley Daniel, 17.9; Jennifer Pettit, 18.2 and Rachel Hale, 19.3. 200 meter dash: Adrianna Woodberry, 33.7; Samantha Hopson, 37.2 and Talena Woodberry, 37.7. 400 meter dash: Chelsie Ward, 1:33.3; Jennifer Pettit, 1:56.1 and Danielle Wilson, 2:10.1. 800 meter run: Rachel Hale, 3:39.1 and Chelsie Ward, 4:17.8. Softball throw: Danielle Wilson, 87'7" and Haley Daniel, 51'11". Standing long jump: Adrianna Woodberry, 5'10"; Rachel Hale, 5'5"; Chelsie Ward, 5'1 =" and Haley Daniel, 4'8". Boys, ages 11-12: 100 meter dash: Travaro Coulter, 14.6 and Phillip Purifoy, 15.2. 200 meter dash: Phillip Purifoy, 32.7. 400 meter dash, Cass Martin, 1:29.9. 800 meter run: Travaro Coulter, 3:03.2 and Cass Martin, 3:34.2. Standing long jump: Phillip Purifoy, 7'2" and Cass Martin, 6'7 =". Girls, ages 13-14: 100 meter dash: Jesna Inlow, 14.9. Softball throw: Jesna Inlow: 128' 3 =". Standing long jump: Jesna Inlow, 6'9". Boys, ages 13-14: 100 meter dash: Crews Young, 15.4 and Maxwell Hamilton, 15.8. 200 meter dash: Crews Young, 32.6. 800 meter run: John Henagan, 3:05.9 and Maxwell Hamilton, 3:54.7.
