Supplemental Security Income pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible call 1-800-772-1213. The beautification committee of the Prescott/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce is working on a project and needs your help. Thirty empty gallon milk jugs are needed. If you have an of these you may drop them off at the Chamber office. If you have any questions call 887-2010. The descendants of Frances America Billingsley and Abner Echols McGuire will holds its family reunion Sunday, June 3, at First Christian Church in Prescott. A noon potluck dinner will be served in the fellowship hall of the church, followed by an afternoon of visiting and reminiscing. All relatives and friends of the McGuire and Billingsley families are invited. Commodities (peanut butter, beef stew, blackeyed peas, macaroni, green beans, corn, potatoes and pears), will be issued in Nevada County at the Senior Citizens Center in Prescott beginning Thursday, June 14. All commodity cards have expired and must be renewed by Tuesday, June 12. No card renewals will be done on June 13 or 14. The Laneburg Cemetery Association will hold its annual board meeting Monday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at Laneburg Baptist Church. All interested parties are urged to attend. Blevins High School class of 1951 reunion will be held at Western Sizzlin in Hope June 30 at 3:00 p.m. If you attended this class at anytime you are invited. For information call 870-777-4330. Descendants of the Allen Francisco family will have a reunion June 15 and 16 in Hope at Western Sizzlin. An equine infectious anemia (EIA) verifier certification program will be conducted by the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission at Tuesday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Nevada County Cooperative Extension Service office in Prescott. Anyone interested in becoming an EIA verifier is invited to attend. A revival through Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 53 near Bodcaw with Bro. Sam Husser as the evangelist. There will be a Bodcaw School reunion June 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Nevada School cafeteria in Rosston. This will be a catered meal. The cost will be $12.50 per person. All former teachers, family and students are invited to attend. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for pre-registration. The agenda will include elementary and high school principals' reports, superintendent's report, consider Title I, Title VI, SE project and personnel matters.
