Everyone attending should take a dish for potluck. Beech Street Baptist Church will hold a men/boys prayer breakfast Sunday, May 27, at 7:30 a.m. Bro. Maurice Hitt will be the mission speaker Wednesday, May 23, at 6:00 p.m. For more information call the church office at 353-4971. Sweet Home Baptist Church will have a three-night revival May 23, 24 and 25 7:30 nightly. Rev. Richard Dixon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville will be the evangelist. The church is located five miles from junction of Highways 53 and 24 West on Highway 24 in Nevada County. For more information call 870-887-1786. The descendants of Albert and Nancy Presson Smith will hold a family reunion Sunday, June 10, at the Gurdon Municipal Building. There will be a potluck luncheon served. Everyone is invited to go and to enjoy the fellowship. The annual Kenneth Hughes family reunion will take place Sunday, May 27, at the home of Perry Don and Shirley Williams. All friends and relatives of the family are welcome. Be sure to take something for a potluck lunch. Happy is one of many lovely part lab dogs available for adoption from the Humane Society of Clark County. The board of directors of the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday (today), May 23, at the offices of West Central Arkansas Planning and Development District in Hot Springs. The Smithpeters will hold a family reunion Sunday, June 3, at the home of Bill Smithpeters. His home is the second house on Dickerson Road off Highway 182. A potluck luncheon will be served. Be sure to take lawn chairs. The Red River Baptist Associational children's camp will be June 25-28 at Camp Paron. Cost for each camper is $65. Camp director is Rusty Ross. Children who have completed third grade through sixth grade may attend. Call BSBC at 353-4971 for more information. The Gurdon High School class of 1971 is planning its 30-year reunion. The Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club meets every second Thursday of each month at the Gurdon Municipal building beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any interested person is welcome to attend. The city of Gurdon reminds residents the storm sirens are tested every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Sirens are not tested during inclement weather.
