Redland NewsMARGUERITE WILLIAMSPublished Wednesday, May 16, 2001 in the Nevada County Picayune Our sympathy goes to the family of Gerry Sue House Gibson, who passed away on Tuesday night last week after a lengthy illness. Funeral was Friday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Willisville. Please pray for her family. I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. We had a wonderful crowd at church. Bro. Mark delivered a super message to all the mothers and his wife Stacy rendered a beautiful message in song about a mother. The words were so fitting. I can't begin to name all the visitors. Tommie Lew Jarvis got the corsage for being the oldest mother, Kerri Russo for being the youngest, and Margaret Jackson for having the most children present. After the service Margaret Jackson presented her's to our faaithful piano player, Dorothy Dixon. Jimmy Williams came Sunday and went to church with us, and afterward Dwight came from Texarkana and we had lunch at the Crossroad Buffet. We visited wtih Welton Bailey of Magnolia while we were eating. The Tommy O'Keefe family had lunch Sunday at Crossroad Buffet, along with Helen Daniel and her other two daughters, Jan and Janette. My brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Minnie Ella Schmitt of Hope, were our supper guests on Tuesday night. We attended the singing at Mt. Moriah Church Saturday night and heard The Apostles of Little Rock sing. They are a men's quartet who are super singers. Ellen (Kennedy) Marsh plays the piano for them. I was Ellen's beautician when they lived here. It was so good to see her again. The Third Generation, the Kirk Talleys and Bill David Barham rendered special music. Maxine Luck went to her eye doctor in Little Rock this week and he thinks new glasses might help her vision. Roscoe and I went to Little Rock Monday and he had a sleep study at Baptist Medical Center that night. He is getting to sleep most of the night without the c-pap machine. We can't thank the Lord enough for this. We had supper with cousins Bob and Drucilla Fairchild of North Little Rock and I spent the night with them and enjoyed it very much. Lyn Dean Morman and I visited the Tommy O'Keefes on Wednesday evening and got to see Lorrie's bouncing new baby boy. They named him Logan Gage. Plans are being made for vacation Bible school which will be held June 18-22. Lyn Dean Morman was sick today and not able to attend church, but she had her children for a hamburger lunch for Mother's Day. The Dail Evanses attended church in Taylor and then had lunch with daughter Judy in Stamps. Mothers are a blessing from God, so always consider yours as such.
